EPL results: Man United drop to 16th after 3-0 home defeat to Bournemouth

Manchester United conceded twice in the first half enroute a debilitating 3-0 defeat to Bournemouth in their English Premier League encounter at Old Trafford on Sunday.
The Red Devils have had a poor run of form and results this season, but it was bottom barrel against a Bournemouth side that won every duel in the commanding victory secured by goals from Rayan, Marcus Tavernier, and Evanilson.
The build-up to the match was centred around coach Michael Carrick dropping Bruno Fernandes, team captain, to the bench following his midweek outburst.
Bournemouth had to wait until the 38th minute to go in front, with Rayan slotting home a free kick delivery at the back post.
A slip by Man United defender Leny Yoro allowed Bournemouth in, and Tavernier had the easy task of slotting the cutback into the net for a two-goal lead at halftime.
The Cherries took the Red Devils apart severally, but waited until the 71st minute to make it three, thanks to goalkeeper Senne Lammens’ error.
He misjudged the flight of a long punt forward, and it allowed Evanilson put the ball into the empty net.
Manchester United stretched their winless streak to eight matches and dropped to 16th position, one point away from relegation places. Bournemouth, on the other hand, rise to 13th position.
In other matches, Liverpool scored two early goals for a 2-0 win over Brighton, their first home win of the season in the EPL.
Pascal Gross netted an own goal before Alexander Isak scored in his third consecutive match to seal all three points.
Newcastle United also preyed on a poor Crystal Palace to win 2-0 at Selhurst Park, thanks to goals scored by Wiliam Osula and Harvey Barnes.
