The NDLEA has arrested 80-year-old Grace Ekpeme and Chinese businessman Liang Tak You for drug trafficking in separate operations across Nigeria. Liang was caught at Lagos airport with 26.1kg of Loud (a potent cannabis strain) smuggled from Thailand via Dubai, while cannabis known as Colorado was discovered hidden in moi-moi sachets.
Nationwide raids also led to several other arrests and drug seizures:
Kaduna-Abuja road: 71,000 opioid pills seized from Usman Musa.
Borno: 30.1kg of skunk recovered from Binta Usman’s home.
Edo: Bright Okon was arrested with Colorado, Loud, Arizona, and meth.
Ogun: 113kg of skunk seized from notorious dealer Jamiu Omolaja.
Kogi, Gombe, Niger, Nasarawa: Massive drug hauls including tramadol, skunk, and injections hidden in food items and vehicles.
The agency vows to sustain the heat on drug syndicates across the country.
