We Rejected Billions, Ministerial Slots to Abandon Opposition – Nwosu

1 min read

Ralph Nwosu has revealed that the party rejected offers worth billions of naira and ministerial slots in a bid to pressure it into abandoning its role in Nigeria’s opposition coalition.

Speaking during the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting on Tuesday in Abuja, Nwosu disclosed that he was offered three automatic ministerial appointments, one for himself and two for his nominees, but he refused, choosing instead to uphold democratic values.

“Some people tried to discourage us with promises of automatic ministerial appointments… But I said no. I chose a democratic future for Nigeria,” he stated.

Nwosu emphasized that the ADC and its National Working Committee (NWC) turned down all inducements, both domestic and foreign, reaffirming their commitment to democracy over monetary gains.

He described the ADC’s involvement in reviving democratic values through a broad opposition coalition on July 2 as a significant moment in Nigeria’s political history.

The former ADC chairman also urged INEC, the judiciary, and the National Assembly to stay committed to protecting democracy.

“Each time democracy suffers, INEC goes down, the National Assembly goes down, and the value of Nigeria diminishes,” he warned.
