PSC promotes Force PRO, Adejobi, to DCP rank

The Police Service Commission (PSC) has approved the elevation of the Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO), Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Olumuyiwa Adejobi, to the next rank of Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) in the Nigeria Police Force (NPF).

The approval was granted during the Commission’s plenary session held during the week and presided over by its Chairman, DIG Hashimu Salihu Argungu (rtd).

The elevation of the senior officer by the Commission underscores Adejobi’s exceptional service, professionalism, and unwavering dedication to the ideals of policing in Nigeria.

Widely regarded for his dynamic approach to police-community relations and transparency in public communication, Adejobi has served as the image maker of the Nigeria Police Force with distinction. Since his appointment as FPRO, he has led several strategic initiatives to rebuild public trust, improve accountability, and modernise the Force’s communication channels.

His promotion has been lauded as a reflection of his commitment to excellence and a recognition of his significant contributions to both the Force and the national security discourse.

Adejobi brings to his new role decades of experience in police operations, public relations, and law enforcement advocacy. He has previously served in various capacities, including as the Police Public Relations Officer in both the Lagos and Ogun State Police Commands.

The Inspector General of Police, Dr. Kayode Egbetokun, has congratulated Adejobi on the new rank, urging him to remain a role model and continue to exemplify the core values of discipline, service, and integrity.
