Tinubu recalls ‘Emi Lo’kan’ campaign, says economic suffering over

President Bola Tinubu has declared that the nation’s economic suffering is now a thing of the past. He stated this on Friday at the Mapo Hall, Ibadan, Oyo State capital, during the historic coronation of His Imperial Majesty Oba Adewolu Ladoja, the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland.

The President’s address was a blend of felicitations for the new monarch and a hopeful message for the Nigerian populace. He asserted that the economy has “turned a corner” and that a “bright light is at the end of the tunnel.”

Tinubu said he was thanking the public for their perseverance and endurance. “Your suffering has been as painful to us as a painful surgery. But the economy has now returned to a moment of growth and prosperity,” President Tinubu said.

Tinubu’s remarks came during the installation of Oba Ladoja, a former Governor of Oyo State, who ascended the throne after a 32-year progression through the city’s traditional chieftaincy system.

Give us Ibadan State before 2027  —  Olubadan tells Tinubu.

The 44th Olubadan, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, has called for the creation of Ibadan State. The new monarch, while addressing the people of Ibadan after receiving the Staff of Office from Governor Seyi Makinde, asked President Bola Tinubu to make the creation of Ibadan State happen before 2027.

Speaking in Yoruba, the monarch said, “My people sent me a message to Mr President. Mr President, they said the creation of Ibadan State is their priority.”
