Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has denied allegations that his administration is responsible for the ongoing strike by the state chapter of the Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria. The industrial action, which began on September 22, 2025, has paralysed court operations across the state. The governor’s response followed a letter from the Forum of NBA Branches in Osun, accusing him and his appointees to the Judicial Service Commission of contributing to the crisis.
In a statement issued on Tuesday by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, Adeleke dismissed the claims as baseless. He maintained that neither he nor his appointees had boycotted JSC activities, insisting that the allegations lacked merit. According to him, the root of the problem lies in the Chief Judge’s refusal to convene JSC meetings or implement the Memorandum of Agreement reached after the last JUSUN strike.
Adeleke argued that placing blame on the executive arm was unfair, emphasising that the responsibility for convening JSC meetings rests solely with the Chief Judge, in line with the principle of separation of powers. He called for an objective assessment of the situation to enable a quick resolution of the crisis.
