The Accord Party’s screening committee has cleared Osun State Governor Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke to participate in the party’s governorship primary election scheduled for today in Osogbo, the state capital.

Elder Ibe Thankgod, the committee chairman and National Organising Secretary of the party, announced that Governor Adeleke, as the sole aspirant, has met all necessary requirements for nomination. The committee completed all required documentation and presented a certificate of clearance to the governor, praising him as a “worthy gubernatorial aspirant.”

The screening committee also included members Abdurahaman Muhammed, Abdulahi Sani Muhammed, and Mrs. Awogbade Rachael.

This development follows Governor Adeleke’s recent defection to the Accord Party after leaving the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), positioning him to seek re-election on the new platform ahead of the August 2026 Osun governorship poll.
