Ibom Air is set to commence international flight operations in April 2026, as preparations at the Victor Attah International Airport in Uyo near completion. The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, disclosed this on Wednesday after inspecting facilities at the airport.

Keyamo, who toured the airport alongside Akwa Ibom State Governor, Umo Eno, said the state had exceeded expectations in readying the facility for international operations. He expressed satisfaction with the quality of infrastructure and the level of preparedness achieved so far, noting that the airport is well positioned to handle international traffic.

Governor Eno, in his remarks, thanked the minister for his commitment to ensuring aviation infrastructure contributes to national economic growth. He also appreciated President Bola Tinubu for approving the airport’s upgrade to international status and for releasing statutory funds to support the project.
