Nigerian Army Inducts 3,391 New Soldiers at Osogbo Depot

The Nigerian Army has formally inducted 3,391 newly trained soldiers at the Depot Nigerian Army in Osogbo, Osun State, marking the first-ever Passing Out Parade since the establishment of the depot. The development was confirmed in a statement issued on Saturday in Abuja by the Acting Director of Army Public Relations, Colonel Appolonia Anele.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, charged the new soldiers to uphold the highest standards of discipline, professionalism, courage and patriotism as they begin their military careers. He described the parade as historic, noting that the recruits are the pioneer graduating set of the Osogbo depot.

The Army Chief urged the soldiers to wear their status with pride and serve as worthy ambassadors of the institution throughout their service. He also reassured them of the Nigerian Army’s continued welfare and operational support under his Soldier First policy.
