The Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, and his Plateau State counterpart, Caleb Mutfwang, met separately with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Thursday at the State House.
The Oyo State governor was the first to arrive for a meeting with President Tinubu.
Checks revealed that the Plateau State governor had since defected to the All Progressives Congress, while Governor Makinde, who is on the platform of the People’s Democratic Party, is a presidential hopeful.
Details of the meetings with President Tinubu are still sketchy, but they are perceived as part of strategic realignments ahead of the forthcoming general elections.
Details later.
