My oga had big ambition’ — Fubara commends Wike for conceiving Port Harcourt ring road

Siminalayi Fubara, governor of Rivers, has commended Nyesom Wike, minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), for conceiving the 50-kilometre Port Harcourt dual carriage ring road project.

Fubara spoke on Tuesday during the inspection of the project in Port Harcourt, the Rivers state capital. The governor described Wike, a former Rivers governor, as having a “very big ambition” in conceiving the road project.

He said Wike believes that residents will appreciate the current administration if the project is completed in record time. He noted that the ring road project was designed to be completed within 36 months, adding that it will be delivered in October this year.

“For me, this project is very important considering the person who conceived it, my Oga, the honourable minister,” Fubara said. “He had a very big ambition and believed that if this project is delivered on record time, the Rivers people will be happy with me.

Fubara’s commendation of Wike comes barely 24 hours after the duo met with President Bola Tinubu at the State House in Abuja over their political dispute.

Following the meeting, there were reports that Fubara will soon submit a list of his cabinet members to the Rivers assembly for consideration and approval.
