Residents of Osun State on Saturday expressed concern as the price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol, climbed to as high as N1,080 per litre across several filling stations.
Many major marketers that previously sold the product at N925-N935 per litre reportedly suspended sales for about three days. However, when some stations resumed operations on Saturday, the pump price ranged between N1,080 and N1,100 per litre.
At the NIPCO Plc station in Okini, a mild queue was observed as petrol was dispensed at N1,000 per litre. Checks across other stations showed varying prices. Petrol was sold at N1,080 per litre at the BOVAS Group station in Ogo Oluwa, while NIPCO’s Ogo Oluwa outlet sold at N1,000 per litre.
At MRS Oil Nigeria Plc, the product was sold for N1,050 per litre, while Eterna Plc maintained a lower price of N935 per litre. Other stations, such as Beloved of God Petroleum, sold petrol at N1,100 per litre, while IGP Petroleum sold it at N1,050 per litre.
