Famous Nollywood actor and filmmaker, Kunle Afolayan, has expressed frustration over the rising cost of diesel, saying the hike has left him sad and struggling to sustain operations at his business facilities.
In a video that has since gone viral on social media, Afolayan disclosed that he spends about N11 million on diesel every month at his KAP Film Village despite having solar power installed.
Lamenting the financial pressure caused by the fuel price increase, the filmmaker said the situation has become difficult to manage, especially as he often purchases diesel on credit.
While appealing for assistance, Afolayan revealed that he is seeking financial support to upgrade his solar power system in order to reduce reliance on diesel.
“We need a loan to upgrade our solar power. So if you can come to our aid, I will really appreciate it.
“I have been sad because I can’t cope with the N1,500 per liter of diesel. I can’t even comprehend it because in one of the businesses that we run, Cab Village, we spent about N11 million in 4 to 5 weeks. And even though we have solar power, we still spend a lot on diesel.
“When this announcement of the new diesel price came, I have been sad. From N995 or N1000 to more than N1,500″, he stated.
