The Chairman of the South-West Governors Forum and Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has congratulated President Bola Tinubu on his 74th birthday, describing him as a patriotic and compassionate leader.
In a statement issued on Saturday by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr. Gboyega Akosile, Sanwo-Olu hailed Tinubu as a visionary and focused leader whose tenure as President has brought development and growth to the country, renewing citizens’ confidence in government.
“On behalf of my wife, Ibijoke, family, the government and people of Lagos State, as well as the leaders and members of the All Progressives Congress in Lagos, I congratulate our National Leader, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on his 74th birthday,” the governor said.
He described Tinubu as “an enigmatic, tested and trusted politician and a democrat who has donated the greater part of his adult life to the service of humanity, Lagos State and Nigeria. His democratic credentials, track records, and governance approach are a testament to his commitment to a better Nigeria.”
Sanwo-Olu further called Tinubu “a statesman, visionary, and compassionate leader passionate about the growth and development of the country. As a detribalised Nigerian and elder statesman, his heart accommodates every section of the country. In his first term as President, he has touched the lives of millions of Nigerians across the nooks and crannies of the country.”
He also praised the President’s tenure as Lagos State Governor, calling him “undoubtedly the father of modern Lagos, having positively transformed the state into a role model for other Nigerian states and African countries.”
The governor prayed for the President’s good health, wisdom, and continued strength to serve the nation. Meanwhile, Iyabo Obasanjo, a governorship aspirant in Ogun State, in a statement issued on Sunday, also felicitated with Tinubu on his 74th birthday.
Obasanjo described Tinubu as “a courageous and visionary leader whose dedication to repositioning Nigeria’s economy and infrastructure is beginning to yield visible results across the country.”
She commended the President’s administration for the ongoing construction, rehabilitation, and expansion of federal road networks, noting the visible improvements in Ogun State under his leadership.
“The renewed attention to critical road infrastructure under President Bola Tinubu has enhanced connectivity, boosted economic activities, and eased the daily movement of people and goods within the state and beyond,” she said.
Obasanjo urged the continued prioritisation of people-oriented projects, noting that sustained investment in road infrastructure would stimulate growth, attract investment, and improve the quality of life for Nigerians.
She prayed for Tinubu’s good health, strength, and wisdom as he continues to steer the nation toward greater stability and progress.
