Jibril said the physical screening, which started on Monday are conducted simultaneously in 14 designated centers across Nigeria to ensure proximity and nearness to applicants.

He explained that uploaded documents would be verified, and a physical examination of applicants to determine their medical and physical fitness would be done, stressing that the physical screening and document verification were for applicants who participated in the computer-based test conducted in Nov. 2025.

Jibril explained that the recruitment would be competence and merit-based to ensure only the best hands are recruited into the service.

While warning against any form of sharp practices, the Board Secretary reminded applicants that the recruitment exercise is free.

His words, “I am here in Uyo to witness the continuation of the exercise for the recruitment into the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire, and Immigration Service. About 60, 000 out of over 1.6 million applicants had been shortlisted for the physical screening exercise, and not less than 30, 000 would be recruited into the services.”

Jibril said the physical screening exercise involves physical checks of applicants’ height, eyes, and legs to ensure there is no deformity in the paramilitary services.
