Delta governor’s aide offers N500,000 to lady in viral Elumelu video

The Senior Special Assistant on Media to the Delta State Governor, Ossai Ovie Success, has offered N500,000 and an ambassadorial deal to the lady involved in an exchange with former UBA Chairman, Tony Elumelu, in a viral video.

The media aide, who is also the founder of the Delta Social Media Summit, made the offer on his official Instagram page on Saturday, following public backlash over the incident, which many described as “unruly”.

“To the lady that was in the news, I am offering you N500,000 cash plus a complimentary VIP trip to Delta Social Media Summit, holding on Thursday, 27th August 2026, in Asaba, Delta State,” he wrote.

He disclosed that the offer included N500,000 cash support, flight tickets to Asaba, five-star hotel accommodation, a guided tour of developmental projects in Delta State, VIP access to the summit and a brand ambassador role for the annual event.

The politician said the gesture was aimed at easing the situation, stressing that the internet could be harsh and that words could have a deep emotional impact, potentially leading to depression.
