Adeleke Highlights 40% Infrastructure deficit Cut.

Osogbo, Nigeria  —  Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has announced that his administration has successfully reduced the state’s infrastructure deficit by over 40%, while pledging to pursue even greater developmental strides.

The governor made this declaration on Thursday in Osogbo while receiving an invitation to the Leadership Newspaper’s award ceremony, where he will be honored as “Governor of the Year.”

Speaking on his administration’s accomplishments, Adeleke highlighted the progress achieved under his leadership while emphasizing the need for continued effort. “I am not allowing the praises to derail my focus. While it’s true I’ve completed a four-year task in under two years, Osun still faces many challenges, and there is much more to do,” he remarked.

Adeleke further noted, “Reducing the infrastructure deficit by over 40% is just the beginning. My target is even higher. Alongside improving access to primary healthcare, I am committed to expanding healthcare services at medium and tertiary levels. Our broader aim is to accelerate infrastructure upgrades and attract investments that enhance the well-being of our people.”

He also described the Leadership Newspaper award as a testament to the impact of his administration’s governance, outlining various ongoing and upcoming initiatives.

“We are about to begin remodelling the Osogbo Stadium to international standards, following the establishment of the Osun Sports Commission and Osun Sports Fund under strong legal and policy frameworks.

“Additionally, I will launch the dualisation of phase one of the Odoori-Post Office road in Iwo. The contractor for the Iwo-Osogbo road has already mobilized to the site, and both projects will be completed during my administration. Progress is also evident on the Ilesa dualisation project, while significant work continues on the Ile Ife flyover bridge. As we move into 2025, Osun will experience expanded governance for the betterment of humanity,” Adeleke stated.

The governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to transforming Osun State, pledging to build on the momentum of development and improve the lives of residents through impactful policies and projects.
