BREAKING: President Tinubu Arrives Nigeria From Istanbul After Days Of Official Silence

President Bola Tinubu has returned to Nigeria following his state visit to the Republic of Türkiye. The Airbus A330 conveying the President arrived at the Presidential Wing of Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja at 8:55 p.m. on Saturday.

Tinubu’s arrival was confirmed in a terse notice issued to State House correspondents by the Presidency Saturday evening.

The state visit, which began on Tuesday, saw President Tinubu engage in bilateral discussions with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and oversee the signing of nine agreements spanning defence, energy, security, research, and other strategic sectors.

Also present to welcome him were the Chargé d’Affaires at the Nigerian Embassy in Türkiye, Ambassador Zayyad Abdulsalam, alongside other embassy officials.

A further statement signed by Bayo Onanuga, the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, disclosed that the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Lateef Fagbemi, SAN; Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun; Minister of Solid Minerals, Dele Alake; and Minister of Defence, Gen. Christopher Musa (rtd), received the President upon his arrival at the hotel.
