Updated: Senate unseals Natasha’s office, resumes Senate duties after suspension

1 min read

The Senator representing Kogi Central, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, resumed her legislative duties on Tuesday shortly after regaining access to her office at the National Assembly. Her return followed the unsealing of her office, located in Suite 2.05 of the Senate Wing, by the Deputy Director of the National Assembly Sergeant-at-Arms, Alabi Adedeji.

With this development,  the National Assembly has now granted the suspended Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan access to her office and the National Assembly premises. With her office now unsealed, Akpoti-Uduaghan can access the National Assembly premises, potentially paving the way for her to resume her legislative duties.

Vanguard gathered that the move to open her office before resumption is to enable Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan to be in the hallowed chamber upon resumption on 7th October, 2025.

According to a source, the decision was arrived at during yesterday’s leadership meeting of the Senate, where a motion will be moved and barring any changes,  the Minority Leader of the Senate,  Senator Abba Moro, PDP, Benue South, will move the motion for her to apologise,  then seconded, and it will be taken.
