Ex-AGoF bags 72 years imprisonment over N868m fraud

The Abuja division of the Federal High Court has sentenced a former acting Accountant-General of the Federation (AGoF), Chukwunyere Nwabuoku, to seventy-two years imprisonment.
The former Acting Accountant-General of the Federation, Chukwunyere Anamekwe Nwabuoku, has been sentenced to 72 years in prison after being convicted of money laundering involving N868.46 million.

The prosecution was handled by the EFCC at the Federal High Court in Abuja, where the court found that Nwabuoku illegally diverted public funds during his tenure.

According to the judgment, the court emphasized the severity of the offense, highlighting the breach of public trust and the scale of the financial loss. Nwabuoku’s sentence serves as a stern warning to public officials against the misappropriation of government funds.
