The former governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in the November 16, 2024, Ondo State gubernatorial election, Bamidele Akingboye, has passed away.
Mr. Akingboye died in the early hours of Wednesday at his residence in Victoria Garden City (VGC), Lagos. He had contested in last year’s election alongside the incumbent governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Agboola Ajayi of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and 12 other candidates.
A statement confirming his death noted that he is survived by his wives, children, grandchildren, and siblings. “Burial arrangements and further details will be communicated in due course,” the statement added.
