The ceremony was attended by the Minister of State for Education, Prof. Suiwaba Ahmed, Yobe State Commissioner for Basic Education, Prof. Abba Adam, and senior officials of the Federal and Yobe State Ministries of Education.

In his remarks, Dr. Alausa praised Nafisa for making the country proud, describing her feat as a testament to the talent and resilience of Nigerian students.

He stressed that such global recognition highlights the need for greater investment in education and opportunities for young people to thrive.

“The Federal Government will continue to prioritize initiatives that nurture academic excellence, including scholarships, mentorship programmes, and improved access to quality learning resources. Nafisa’s achievement should inspire other students to pursue knowledge with dedication and discipline,” the Minister said.

Prof. Adam, on his part, hailed Nafisa and other young achievers as symbols of resilience, noting that their triumph reflects both personal excellence and the progress of Yobe State’s education sector.

“Today, we are celebrating victory — a victory of resilience, and of a Governor who believes in the power of education as a key to the future of his people and the state,” he said.

He highlighted milestones in Yobe’s education sector, including the graduation of 171 state-sponsored medical students from Indian universities, now working across state hospitals.

He also noted that the state’s tertiary institutions — including colleges of education, agriculture, and business studies — have been upgraded to strengthen teaching, research, and training.

In her response, Nafisa expressed gratitude to her parents, teachers, and the Nigerian government for their support. She pledged to use her platform to inspire others, encouraging Nigerian youths to embrace hard work and perseverance to compete globally.

She also unveiled her new project, English Language for Peace and Development, aimed at promoting literacy, dialogue, and social cohesion among young people.
