The Federal Government has issued a serious warning to personnel of the Federal Fire Service (FFS) against job racketeering in the ongoing recruitment exercise into the agency.
Controller-General of the Service (CG), Olumode Adeyemi, issued the warning during an interaction with officers and staff of the service while on a tour and working visit to the Abuja Metropolitan Fire Station and Wuse Fire Station in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), yesterday.
He said staff and personnel of the FFS must at all times uphold the reputation of the agency as good ambassadors, therefore any anyone involved in job racketeering will face immediate dismissal.
“No job racketeering. Any of the staff, any of the personnel involved in job racketeering will be shown the way out.
“I have drawn a line. If you are caught, if your name is mentioned, that you are involved in job racketeering, you will go for it. There is no sacred cow; you will go for it,” he stated.
The warning came as the CG also highlighted improved welfare, noting that allowances are now consolidated into the salary structure.
