Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, on Friday formally completed his registration with the All Progressives Congress (APC), receiving his membership card and solidifying his exit from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). With the move, he becomes the automatic leader of the APC in the state.
Speaking shortly after receiving the card at Government House, Port Harcourt, Fubara said his decision was guided by his commitment to the safety, protection, progress and sustained development of Rivers State. He noted that his political choices were driven by the need to safeguard the state’s future.
Addressing concerns from supporters, the governor explained that aligning with the ruling party at the federal level was essential for stability and accelerated growth. He added that his support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu was both a political alignment and a show of appreciation for the President’s backing during the state’s most turbulent moments.
