Gov. Adeleke Declares June 27 Public Holiday to Mark Hijrah 1447AH. Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke, has declared Friday, June 27, 2025, as a public holiday in observance of the Islamic New Year, Hijrah 1447AH.
The announcement was made in a statement issued by the Commissioner for Home Affairs, Alhaji Rasheed Aderibigbe.
Governor Adeleke extended his warm greetings to the Muslim community across the state, urging residents to use the occasion to offer prayers for continued peace, progress, and prosperity in Osun State and Nigeria as a whole.
He also encouraged citizens to celebrate the Islamic New Year in a peaceful and harmonious manner, emphasizing the importance of unity as a cornerstone for sustainable development.
“Let us use this spiritual occasion to reflect on the values of love, sacrifice, and mutual respect that the Hijrah embodies,” the Governor stated.
