In a proactive move to address teacher shortages in Osun State schools, Governor Ademola Adeleke has deployed 1,750 members of the Imole Youth Corps to primary and secondary schools across the state.
The initiative serves as a stopgap measure pending a large-scale recruitment of teachers, which has been delayed due to financial constraints. The Governor also disclosed ongoing discussions with the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) leadership to ensure more corps members are posted to Osun schools.
According to Mallam Olawale Rasheed, Spokesperson to the State Governor. The Imole Youth Corps members hold either a Nigeria Certificate of Education (NCE) or university degrees, and are already contributing to learning in schools across the state.
