Governor Ademola Adeleke Cuts Short Medical Trip, Visits Akinlalu Over Amotekun Killings

Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, on Monday visited Akinlalu town to commiserate with the families of three residents killed by Amotekun operatives.

The Governor, who cut short his medical trip abroad, arrived in Nigeria late Sunday and went straight to Akinlalu with his deputy, Prince Kola Adewusi, Speaker Adewale Egbedun, and other top officials.

Adeleke expressed sadness over the killings, assuring that justice will be served. He ordered a full police investigation and directed Amotekun officials involved to cooperate, promising that “there will be no sacred cows.”

He also pledged compensation for the victims’ families and announced plans to build a police station in Akinlalu. Welcoming the Governor, the Alakinlalu of Akinlalu, Oba Israel Oluwabusola Aborisade, appreciated his visit and urged him to ensure justice.

Community leaders and youths also called for the suspension of the involved Amotekun officers, a fair investigation, and improved security in the town.

Governor Adeleke commended the people for maintaining peace and reaffirmed his commitment to justice and the development of Akinlalu.
