The lawmaker representing Ife Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Abimbola Ajilesoro, has said he is enjoying the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) after he dumped the Peoples Democratic Party.
It would be recalled that the lawmaker, on July 22, through a letter addressed to the PDP chairman of Ilare Ward II in Ife Central Local Government Area of Osun State, resigned from the PDP. Ajilesoro, who made his defection official on the floor of the House of Representatives on Thursday, July 24, 2025, said he dumped the Peoples Democratic Party for the All Progressives Congress because of internal conflicts and the party’s instability.
He blamed the PDP’s internal conflicts and inconsistent political direction for his decision. Speaking recently on the floor of the House of Representatives, the lawmaker expressed how joyous he was to join the APC.
“Mr Speaker, I have the rare privilege of sitting in the seat of the Chief Whip of the House; it’s because I’m enjoying my new party,” the lawmaker stated while responding to the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, who asked him to second a motion during plenary.
