INEC begins in-person voter pre-registration exercise

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Monday August 25, began the physical, in-person phase of its Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise across the country.

This follows the online pre-registration which commenced on August 18.

The nationwide exercise is a crucial step towards the upcoming 2027 general elections.

In an update on its X handle, on Monday, August 25, the commission urged eligible Nigerians to begin their registration by visiting the official portal.

The post reads: “In-person Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) starts today,
Time: 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM (Monday to Friday).

“Note: If you have already completed your online pre-registration, kindly proceed to the INEC State Head Office or the INEC LGA office in your place of residence to complete your registration.
