The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), South-West Zone, has rescheduled the proposed mass protest against the worsening electricity supply across the region.

The protest earlier slated for Thursday, March 19, 2026, has been moved to Tuesday, March 24, 2026.

This was contained in a statement by the NANS Zone D Coordinator, Comrade Josiah Adeyemo, in Osogbo, on Thursday.

According to Adeyemo, the decision was reached after critical considerations and strategic consultations to ensure a more coordinated and inclusive participation of students and concerned residents across the South-West.

“The objective of the protest remains unchanged to demand immediate and sustainable restoration of stable power supply from the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) and to address the prolonged hardship being faced by students and the general populace.

“We hereby urge all Nigerian students, union leaders, civil society allies, and members of the public to take note of this new date and remain fully prepared to mobilise massively.

“The protest will proceed as a peaceful but resolute action to demand accountability, fairness, and improved service delivery.

“Further details regarding convergence points and logistics will be communicated in due course,” the statement read.
