Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris, revealed this at the ongoing National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) Show 2025 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Key Initiatives
– Modernizing Broadcasting Infrastructure: The government plans to deploy cutting-edge technologies and acquire state-of-the-art equipment for federal media organizations to improve service delivery.
– Upgrading Obsolete Infrastructure: The Minister emphasized the need to upgrade and replace outdated infrastructure in Nigeria’s radio and television stations to ensure timely, credible, and balanced information dissemination.
– Global Collaborations: The government aims to explore partnerships that offer Nigerian broadcasters access to emerging technologies and global training opportunities.
Supporting Partnerships
Industry leaders, including Thomas King, Chairman of Kintronic Laboratories, and the CEO of Thomson Broadcast, have pledged support for Nigeria’s broadcast sector. They expressed readiness to partner with the Federal Government in repositioning media establishments and regulatory agencies.
