The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has announced that the revived Port Harcourt Refinery, with a capacity of 60,000 barrels per day, is currently producing essential petroleum products daily.
Contrary to some speculations suggesting that the refinery is not operational, NNPCL stated in a press release issued by its Chief Corporate Communications Officer, Olufemi Soneye, that the refinery is functioning at 70% capacity and producing valuable products.
The statement addressed unfounded claims about the refinery’s operations and highlighted the current production levels, revealing that the refinery is producing the following daily:
– 1.4 million liters of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS)
– 900,000 liters of Kerosene
– 1.5 million liters of Automotive Gas Oil (Diesel)
– 2.1 million liters of Low Pour Fuel Oil (LPFO)
– Straight-Run Gasoline (Naphtha) blended into various products
The NNPCL also disclosed plans to increase the refinery’s capacity to 90% in the near future, indicating a positive outlook for the facility’s operations and contribution to the country’s petroleum products supply.
