NRC Urges Patience as Abuja–Kaduna Train Service Faces Temporary Disruption

1 min read

The Nigerian Railway Corporation has called on passengers using the Abuja–Kaduna rail corridor to remain patient amid ongoing disruptions to the service. The appeal was made by the Managing Director, Dr. Kayode Opeifa, in a statement issued on Tuesday in response to growing concerns over reduced train frequency on the route.

Opeifa said the NRC had reviewed a recent article by veteran journalist Muhammad Iskeel Abdullahi published on the Journalists for Development platform and acknowledged the concerns raised as sincere and in the national interest. He stressed that the corporation values passenger feedback and remains committed to improving the rail system.

Assuring travellers, Opeifa explained that the current situation is part of a broader phase of recovery and rebuilding. He noted that the temporary challenges do not reflect a loss of focus but are necessary steps toward restoring a stronger and more reliable rail service.
