The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) has declared its readiness for the next year’s governorship election in Osun State, saying that the party is prepared to sack the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
The declaration came as the chairman, Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Professor Mahmood Yakubu, announced the scheduled dates for Ekiti and Osun States governorship elections
INEC had fixed 8th August, 2025 for the governorship election in Osun State. The state chairman of NNPP, Dr Tosin Odeyemi in a statement made available to our correspondent said the party is well prepared to contest the governorship election, saying that the party has put all machinery on motion to participate in the election.
He said “the NNPP can’t wait to sack the PDP government that is daily striving on propaganda in governing the state.
“Now that the coast is becoming clear, our party will start the tour of every ward in Osun State to sensitize the citizens on the need to vote their conscience not emotion. “Our doors are opened to everyone with good intention to govern Osun State. We will welcome such individuals with open arms and treat them equally with present members.
“We will also ensure collaboration with any people-oriented political party that is ready to salvage our dear state from this government of nepotism. “As we have earlier affirmed, the Osun 2026 gubernatorial election will be a funny and surprise game, the one which we have never experienced in the state before,” he added.
Odeyemi advised all political gladiators in the state to play the game according to the rules just as he warned politicians not to set the state on fire ahead of the election.
