Osun Govt Dismisses APC’s ₦1 Trillion Allocation Claim as False

1 min read

The Osun State Government has dismissed claims by the All Progressives Congress (APC) that Governor Ademola Adeleke squandered ₦1 trillion in state allocations since 2022, describing the allegation as “fake news” and “a failed propaganda” ahead of the 2026 elections.

In a statement by the governor’s spokesperson, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, the government said the APC’s claim was fabricated to discredit what he called Adeleke’s outstanding performance, which has received both local and international recognition. He noted that the state had not received anything close to ₦1 trillion and that available funds were prudently managed to improve key sectors including health, education, infrastructure, agriculture, and pension management.

Rasheed highlighted several ongoing and completed projects under Adeleke’s administration, such as 322 kilometers of roads, renovation of 200 health centers and over 100 schools, flyover construction, sports facility upgrades, and settlement of salary arrears and pension debts left by the previous APC government. He added that the enrolment of over 30,000 pensioners in the state health insurance scheme underscored the governor’s commitment to people-centered governance.
