Former Vice-Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Datti Baba-Ahmed, has clarified that Peter Obi was informed and raised no objection before his participation in the National Executive Council (NEC) meeting held by the Julius Abure-led faction of the party.
Speaking during an interview on Arise Television on Tuesday night, Baba-Ahmed stated that he consulted with Obi and ensured he was kept informed before attending the controversial meeting.
“I need to understand that Peter Obi’s cup is full. And maybe he is shy to tell me to go and do these things. He knows everything I do. I carry him along.” Describing Obi’s leadership style, he said, “Peter Obi is a very easy person. He leaves you to use your judgement and initiative. He was fully in the picture.”
While Baba-Ahmed attended the NEC meeting convened by the Abure camp, many LP stakeholders argue that Abure’s tenure has expired.
