Simon Shortlisted for Ligue 1’s Best African Player Award

Paris, France  —   Moses Simon, Nantes’ dynamic winger, has been nominated for the prestigious Marc-Vivien Foé Award, recognizing the best African player in France’s Ligue 1.

The award, named in honor of late Cameroonian midfielder Marc-Vivien Foé, who tragically passed away on the pitch in 2003, celebrates outstanding African talent in French football.

Simon, 29, has been instrumental for Nantes this season, contributing seven goals and eight assists in 25 league appearances. His exceptional performances have earned him a place among the league’s top African stars.

The accolade has previously been won by two Nigerians, goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama, who claimed it in the 2013/14 season, and forward Victor Osimhen, the youngest-ever recipient, who secured the honor in 2019/20.
