Abuja, Nigeria — Nigeria’s Super Eagles are set to face a tough challenge in Group C at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), following the official draw.
The draw, conducted on Monday in Morocco, placed the three-time AFCON champions alongside Tunisia, Uganda, and Tanzania.
The Super Eagles will begin their campaign against familiar rivals Tunisia, a team they’ve faced numerous times on the continental stage. Uganda and Tanzania, both seen as emerging football forces in East Africa, complete the group.
Football analysts have described Group C as balanced but competitive, with Nigeria expected to rely on its wealth of talent to secure qualification to the knockout stages.
“This draw presents an opportunity for the Super Eagles to show their dominance,” a top football pundit remarked. “However, they must not underestimate the resilience of their opponents.”
The tournament, set to take place in Morocco from December 21, 2025, to January 18, 2026, promises to deliver high-stakes football action.
The Super Eagles are eager to reclaim the title they last won in 2013, with fans across the nation hopeful for a stellar performance from the team under coach José Peseiro.
The stage is set for an exciting showdown as Nigeria prepares to conquer Group C and make a mark at AFCON 2025.
