President Bola Tinubu joined thousands of Lagos residents and cultural enthusiasts at the grand finale of the 2025 Eyo Festival held at the Tafawa Balewa Square, Lagos, marking the return of the iconic cultural parade after an eight-year hiatus.

In a statement on Saturday by his spokesman, Bayo Onanuga, the President said the festival underscores Nigeria’s rich cultural diversity and vast tourism potential, noting that indigenous traditions should be harnessed as effective tools for destination promotion and economic growth.

Dressed in the traditional white robe, damask sash and star-studded hat of the Eyo masquerade, and carrying the opambata staff, Tinubu participated in the colourful celebration which honoured four late eminent Lagos personalities — Mobolaji Johnson, Lateef Jakande, Michael Otedola, and his mother, Abibatu Mogaji.
