President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has returned to Abuja after participating in the 2024 G20 Leaders’ Summit held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
During the summit, the Nigerian leader reaffirmed his commitment to global initiatives by endorsing the Global Alliance Against Hunger and Poverty, a strategic framework designed to address the root causes of these global challenges.
In a bid to bolster Nigeria’s economic trajectory, President Tinubu also engaged in bilateral discussions with the Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Kristalina Georgieva. Georgieva lauded the Tinubu administration for its ongoing economic reforms, emphasizing their potential to stabilize and revitalize Nigeria’s economy.
Additionally, the President oversaw the signing of a $2.5 billion Letter of Intent between Nigeria and a Brazilian meat processing firm. The agreement is expected to advance the objectives of Nigeria’s newly established Ministry of Livestock Development, focusing on strengthening the nation’s livestock sector and boosting agricultural productivity.
This visit underscores Nigeria’s active engagement on the global stage and its commitment to fostering partnerships that drive economic growth and development.
