We Look Forward To Having More Governors, Senators In Our Party’ – Yilwatda

2 min read

Newly-appointed National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, on Thursday assumed duties at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja, with a bold proclamation that the 2027 general elections are already sealed in favour of the ruling party. Addressing members of the National Working Committee (NWC) during his maiden engagement as chairman, Yilwatda said the APC would leave nothing to chance in consolidating its hold on power.

He said, “Our doors are open to welcome members. We look forward to having more governors, more senators, more national assembly members, more local government chairmen, and more Nigerians in our party. “We will expand beyond bounds. I am sure by God’s grace, I am sure that 2027 is a done deal for APC.”

He also promised not to betray the trust reposed in him by the party’s leadership and members. Yilwatda said, “I count it a rare privilege and I must appreciate God, appreciate the leadership of our party, appreciate our governors, National Assembly, National Working Committee members, and all the teeming loyal supporters of APC for resting this burden of trust on me.

“I count it a trust and a burden at the same time because it is quite heavy, it is large, I know that I have people around me, veterans, supporters, friends as members of the National Working Committee. I have worked with them before, and I have virtually met all the members of the National Working Committee. I have met them in person in one form of service or the other, either coming here to monitor the election or going for the primary election elsewhere, or doing campaigns in several states together with them.
