Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State has approved the appointment of Alhaji Abdulkadir Ibrahim Bello as the new Emir of Gusau and Sarkin Katsina, marking the 16th monarch of the Emirate.
The Secretary to the State Government, Abubakar Mohammad Nakwada, confirmed the news, stating the appointment followed the traditional selection process by the Emirate’s kingmakers in line with established customs and laws.
Bello succeeds his late father, continuing a historic royal legacy. Governor Lawal urged the new Emir to uphold unity, peace, and development, drawing inspiration from his ancestors, including the respected Malam Sambo Dan Ashafa.
With confidence in his leadership, the Governor emphasized the importance of continuity and wisdom in steering the Emirate forward during a critical period for the state.
