Governor Ademola Adeleke has approved the implementation of the 2025 agreement between the Academic Staff Union of Universities and the Federal Government at Osun State University, with payment of arrears set to begin from January 2026.
According to a statement by the university’s Public Relations Officer, Ademola Adesoji, the implementation covers key components such as the Consolidated Academic Allowance (CAA), the tax-free Consolidated Tools Allowance (CATA), and Professorial Allowances.
The move has been widely welcomed within the academic community, with expectations that it will improve staff welfare, enhance institutional stability, and foster industrial harmony.
Reacting to the development, the ASUU UNIOSUN Chairman, Wende Olaosebikan, described the approval as timely and impactful.
