NDC shifts unveiling of Obi-Kwankwaso campaign council to October 26

The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has postponed the unveiling and inauguration of its national campaign council for the forthcoming presidential election.
In a statement issued on Monday, Osa Director, the NDC national publicity secretary said the event, earlier scheduled for October 20, will now be held on October 26.
Director said the postponement was necessitated by the “tight schedule” of Peter Obi, the NDC presidential candidate, who has an important overseas engagement.
He apologised for any inconvenience caused by the change and urged party members and supporters to remain focused on securing victory for Obi and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, his running mate, and other NDC candidates in the 2027 elections.
On Sunday, Kwankwaso said the party will not withdraw from the 2027 presidential race in favour of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) or any other party, amid talks of a possible opposition alliance to field one candidate to challenge President Bola Tinubu.
Kwankwaso said he and Obi remained committed to contesting the election.
