NDC to unveil campaign council, publish statement of account Monday

The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) will unveil its National Campaign Council (NCC) and present its statement of account at its third National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting on Monday, October 26, in Abuja.
The party disclosed this in a notice dated October 23, 2026, and signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Osa Director, Esq.
The notice said the meeting would hold at 10 a.m. at JD Event Centre, Kashim Ibrahim Way, opposite A-Class Park, Maitama, Abuja.
The presentation of the statement of account by the National Treasurer will be a major highlight of the meeting, which the NDC said reflected its commitment to transparency and accountability.
The party challenged other political parties, particularly the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), to emulate its openness in the management of party finances. “For the NDC, it is no longer politics as usual,” the statement said.
Explaining its financial position, the party said its resources would have been stronger if more of its candidates had been able to pay for their Expression of Interest forms. It claimed that about 80 per cent of the candidates could not afford the forms because of poverty, hunger and deprivation in the country, which it blamed on the economic policies of the APC-led administration.
The NDC said it therefore issued the forms free of charge to the affected candidates to enable them to participate in the party’s political process.
The party added that the NEC meeting would also see the unveiling of the NCC, which it described as an all-encompassing structure covering presidential, National Assembly, governorship and State Houses of Assembly campaigns. Candidates for the various offices will also be presented with their Certificates of Return.
Expressing confidence in its preparedness for the forthcoming elections, the party said it intended to offer Nigerians altruistic leadership.
“The NDC is turbo-charged and ready to give Nigerians the altruistic leadership the nation deserves,” the statement said.
