Five Reportedly Killed In Ikire Garage Takeover Crisis

There is currently trouble in Ikire, Irewole Local Government Area of Osun State, as three commercial bus drivers and two passersby were reportedly killed during an alleged attempt to take over a garage in the town.

Sources said three commercial bus drivers and two passersby lost their lives in the incident, which occurred on Monday.

The killings have thrown residents into fear, with many shops and markets hurriedly shut down as news of the violence spread.

A video circulating online on Monday showed the aftermath of the attack. In the footage, the lifeless body of a man with a gunshot wound to the head was seen slumped inside a car. Another body was also seen lying on the ground by the roadside.

The identities of the victims had not been confirmed at the time of filing this report.

It was gathered that the crisis erupted following a disagreement over the control of a garage in the town, leading to an alleged attempt by a group to forcefully take over its management.
